Never Ending Story Pearls Brooch Necklace
Never Ending Story Pearls Brooch Necklace
A gold-filled antique brooch pin from the Victorian era (circa mid/late 1800s to early 1900s) has been repurposed as a necklace to be more wearable today.
What does this shape remind you of? Perhaps the Never Ending Story, or perhaps the Olympic Rings?
The modern Olympics was inspired by the ancient Olympics games. The International Olympic Committee was founded in 1894 and the first of the modern games was held in 1896 in Athens, Greece. The Olympic Rings symbol was introduced to the world in 1913. Looking closely at the comparison, the design of the rings from this brooch conversion is different than that of the official Olympic symbol (see how the rings intertwine and come together).
Victorian adornment was obsessed with symbolism. Amongst the various depictions, circles represented eternity and life everlasting. The rings in this converted pendant make a statement with their bold design. Additionally, the circles are accented by three natural pearls in the front.
Brooch pin measures 2 1/8” wide x 1 1/4” tall.
New 14k gold-filled chain. Chain length is 16".
Necklace pictured measures 16”. If desired, an adjustable chain length may be built into the existing chain to be more versatile, adjustable from 16-17-18 inches or replaced with a longer chain adjustable from 18-19-20 inches. Wear this necklace shorter or longer depending on the neckline of what you're wearing.
